Leave No Trace Trainer Course: Cost: $25.00 Limited to 15 students. At Hornaday we are also offering a Leave No Trace Trainer course for Scouts over the age of 14 and registered Scouters (adults who are not registered with the Council must do so before the course). This course is the prerequisite for the new leadership position for Scouts, Leave No Trace Trainer, which counts towards rank advancement. (Note: the course must be completed prior to any time claimed in the leadership position.) The LNT Trainer course involves the entire weekend and no other merit badges may be taken if you choose the LNT Trainer option. For Scouters this will qualify you to sign off on the new LNT requirements in the Trail to First Class or for the LNT Achievement Award for Scouts and the similar awards for Cubs and Venturers. This course provides participants with hands on experience... The course is a component of the nationwide Leave No Trace for Ethical Decision Making program which is a coordinated effort by the Boy Scouts and four other federal land management agencies and the National Outdoor Leadership School. The participants will receive Leave No Trace training through a preparatory classroom meeting followed by an overnight training campout. Participants will teach the Leave No Trace principles to each other with assignments made at the preparatory meeting. Upon successful completion of the course each participant will become a Leave No Trace Trainer with the patches and certification cards to evidence their accomplishment and authority to properly teach this important national initiative.
